Why is my mom over-reacting?

hi hi people...It's my girlfriend's b-day and I called her this morning to say happy b-day you know that sorta thing. When I was talking to her she said she was putting on makeup and we were joking about how when ppl put on eye makeup they tend to open their mouths..

so I laughed and said "well is your mouth open"

and my mom thought It was intended to be sexual and she started yelling at me when I got off the phone and started telling me about how I can not see her anymore and stuff like that. I tried to tell her but she won't listen..do you think she's over-reacting

(my intentions were not of the sexual nature)

She did over react especially if you meant it innocently. However when a parents child is of sexual age the parent is always a little paranoid about them having s*x. She thinks she is trying to protect you. When things calm down then you can approach her and tell her what the phone conversation was about. She's not going to listen in the heat of the moment.

Omg that is totally overreacting. Jeez. I hate how people flip out over the simplest things. Idk wat to tell you. Just try to talk to her more about it. She probably will get over it soon so you donthave to worry.

Yes your mom is totally over reacting!!!  Have you given her a reason in the past to react this way.  Because that sounds a little strange.

Definately over reacting. Unfortunately it's really difficult to deal with mums when they're like that.

Give her a day or two to calm down, then try to talk to her again. Maybe ask if there is anything bothering her, or if there's something about your relationship that worries her. Listen and talk rationally, and above all don't lose your temper.
