Why is my mom so mean?

She always complains about me wearing too much makeup, I don't even wear mascara anymore because its so annoying EVERY MORNING: "Katie, you're wearing too much makeup" Now I only wear eyeliner on my bottom eyelid. Every now and then I say something like; "oh c**p", or "aw frick" and she gets all mad because I'm saying unladylike things, I'm not even cussing! Every once in awhile, and I don't know why but something in my head says "hey katie go into your moms room" and I do, she gets mad, because I'm not respecting her privacy. For me, resisting going into my mom's room is like a really fat person resisting a frosted cupcake, I don't get it, at my dad's house, my dad lets me go in and out of his room as I please... And every night at dinner she gets mad at me for something, like accidentally picking up a green bean with my fingers. Instead of being like "hey don't do that" shes more like "AAAAH!!! DON'T DO THAT YOU LITTLE PIG!" she's the only one who complains about my attitude... AM I THE BAD ONE? my dad can't do any thing because hes divorced from my mom (gods blessing in disguise). And when she gets mad shes like louis from malcom in the middle. Me and my brother that isn't in college have to say "yes ma'am" and what not... help me out here?

My number one bet is because she feels bad about the divorce. She probably wants you guys to grow up to be well behaved adults (which is probably why she doesnt like the makeup) The reason Ithinks because most kids, as you read in newspapers or see on T.V., with a history of divorced parents, grow up to be really sluttty or dangerous people. Give your mom a break...she has it hard too.

How old are you? Lol and Malcolm's mom that really sucks Luis is really mean. But uh, just do everything nicely. Swearing saying the word c**p is kind of a swear. Still just control your swearing and give her her privacy.

Your mom sounds like she is old fashioned, and that is ok. She just has very high expectations of her children, and wants you to look and act like a lady...prim and proper, I assume. I would really learn some self control over her bedroom though, cause that is her space, and you do need to respect that. Every parent is different on that kind of thing, so it is normal to bother your Mom and your Dad is fine with it. Just do your best to show respect for your mother.

The proper way is to use it in such a way that it never shows

Painting it on makes you look like a clown and I  know that you wish to look your very best

so learn to go easy and blend it in so as to reduce the stark contrast.

  As for her room, what part of stay out can't you understand.

She as you has her space and when you go on in you are invading her space and then you are amazed that she gets mad.

Man I Have The Same Problem, But With My Father, You Should Read Mines, Its Terrible, Just Keep Doing What She Says, But When You Hit 18 You Free To Go Girl, Trust Me You Can't Do Nothing.

Just for starters...stay out of her room!  Respect her privacy!  You have no reason to be in there!

Now, for the language she thinks is bad, and also the table manners, I don't think I would get as mad as she does, but in all honesty, you could definitely improve on both....then you could draw attention to that fact the next time your getting yelled at.

Don't know what else to tell you, hon...just prove to her that you are trying.  Hopefully things will get a little quieter for you.
