Why is rap played out?

Question

I used to love rap and now it sounds so immature and fake...is it for younger people? I'm from Philly so I'm still around all that stuff, it's just old.

i never use to like rap but im in love with it now..some stuffs good some stuff blows.. depends how good the song is.

because of alot of the up coming artists are killing it. all they sing about is dumb stuff. if you pay attention half the things they say doesnt even makes sense

It's because of the rappers in the media. Old school is always better. &Sometimes, rappers in the media have to sample off of old school songs just to get a hit.

&Yes, younger people like old rap too.

cuz almost all of it is about girls and $$$   go underground like immortal technique .atmosphere.army of the pharaohs [fav song is murda murda and into the arms of angels].jedi mind tricks.nas [undying love is fav also self conscience)]. etc

just go on goggle and find out some underground rappers!!

I think the only good rap songs were made in the 90's.  Those were simpler times when mainstream rap songs didn't include every swear with every female body part being auctioned off for money (keep in mind that I'm not talking about all rap, but most).  The repetitive topic that rap centers around is old, crude and annoying.  Some songs used to have a message, now it's just dirty-talk put to music.
