I am a gambler. I know it isn't a good thing. I was told if I have to do it, stay away from the slots. Why?

  1. I am also a gambler and I don't listen when people warn to stay away from slot machines.  You have to play what you like.  I am well aware of the house advantage when it comes to slots, but I find they are entertaining. When I walk into a casino, I only play slots.  I have a set gaming budget and play until that's gone, win or lose.  Also, slot machines are the best and fastest way to earn comps (if you use a casino card).  You don't earn that many points playing the table games or video poker.  This past Friday, I won $1800 on a Stinkin' Riches penny slot machine after an initial investment of $100.00  I put the money away and continued to play with the money I allocated for that night.

Play what you like and don't worry about what other people say!!

    Enjoy!!

  2. cause they eat your money

  3. Well I have worked at Casinos and many people in my family do.. and the records show that no one ever end up positve, even the high rollers they either break even or have lost money... so they are really just a scam... you may win a little here or there but in the end you win nothing...

  4. Because even loose slots only pay out 90% and some pay out as little as 75%.  They're some of the worst odds in the casino.

  5. Super LOWWWW Odds of winning!!!!  As a gambler you have better odds of winning at just about everything else, at least that's what all the Books on Casino Type of Gaming writes!  Printed books say your best odds of winnning are at Black Jack followed by Craps and then by Video Poker.

  6. It's not so much that the odds are stacked a bit against you, but because most people are after the BIG prize; which is very very hard to hit.  So even if one starts winning a bit, most people just sit there spinning the wheels over and over until finally they run out of spins.    So imagine you put $20 in the machine and it costs $.25 to spin.   Maybe after 25 spins, you have won a bit, and now you have $25 in "credits".   Do you quit, or play on, hoping for the $1,000 prize?    Most people look at their winnings as simply "more spins".    So they keep spinning, until finally, their credits run out.     And that's the real reason most everybody loses on slots ... people are not content with small wins .. they want the big reward, which so often never shows up.

  7. Because you could go broke

  8. You could lose all of your money.

  9. what if ur just losing ur money, that isnt good

  10. slots are addictive. even if you play with limited money and never go broke your life will be surronded by the slot machines. I was on a cruise back in December and I was at the nickel slots everyday on the cruise. I planned on only playing them a couple times, but I couldn't resist playing them more than just a couple of times. I was lucky however because I made enough money to break even and ended up 20 dollars overall during the cruise because I played roulette well.

  11. Because they are computerised and rigged.  You have no part in the outcome.  It is rigged so it will always make more money than it gives.  It is a computer and it is programmed to give a payout once in a while.  With other gambling at least you have a fair chance of winning (although that is quite small).  If you play poker it is up to the hand you are dealt and your playing skills.  If you play roulette you have a chance (although small) of picking the right number.  If you bet on horses you could pick the winner.  With machines they are programmed and the chance has nothing to do with you.  You could play on that same machine for 2 hours and win nothing and the next person could sit down straight after you and press the button and win $20.  You will never win big on these machines and you will never win more than you play over time.  Avoid all gambling.  it is just a business for them to make money.  You will never be rich due to gambling.  I have just been asked to take a loan out for someone for $100 000 for a gambling debt.  This was on horses mostly but also with those pathetic machines.  He will loose everything if we don't help.  We could loose everything if we do.  Gambling not only affects the gambler but everyone around them.  Relationships and finacial lives are destroyed.  many homeless people are that way due to an addiction - whether it be gambling, alcohol or drugs.  Get help now.  I recommend gamblers annonymous which has a 12 step program.  It is run by ex gamblers so they know what they are talking about.  Also try typing 'gambling problems' in google and see what sites come up when you select your country only in the search.  Good luck!

  12. Do not avoid slots! Do not avoid gambling!

Just change the side of the table where you're sitting ;)

Sit on the winning side (the owner side) and you will always win!!!
