Question:

Why the hassle at Kings Island?

when i went to kings island yesterday, i brought my paper so i could process my pass.

i had bought a cedar fair platinum pass ($150) off the cedar point website and i pre-registered my pass online so i could skip having to fill out forms at the park. i waited in line for probably 45 minutes at the processing center.

here's where it gets ugly.

the people at the processing center at kings island told me if i processed it at their season pass center, that i would get the benefits from kings island, but not the benefits for cedar point, and directed me to guest services. i told them a hundred times it was a cedar fair platinum pass and not a cedar point season pass (which they thought it was). i had to show the people at guest services the writing on my pass redemption paper and read it to them before they believed me, by the way they were area supervisors, they finally gave me a free day pass to give to the ticket takers so i could get in.

  1. Hey, whats up... i live close to Kings Island, I don't even go anymore because prices are crazy, and they never change anything... "whoa some rides are riding in other direction" wow! who cares, nothing has changed and neither has the prices... they need to make it more affordable for everyone, it's ridicoulous for people who do make a quite a bit of money. but who knows... idk... good luck w/your answers

  2. Ouch...I feel your pain there.

Sounds like since the guys over at Kings Island are still new to the Cedar Fair way of things, it's good you contacted Cedar Point to get help.  Sorry you had to deal with the issues.  I hope it gets resolved through the CF GM.

Trust me when I say I feel your pain.  I work at a museum, and we deal with memberships all day long.  Our museum has a membership that covers 7 of our local museums, that all are supposed to follow a certain set of rules regarding the membership.  There's one museum that, for whatever reason, tends to make up their rules for their members, and then we have to pick up the pieces when it falls back on us.  It's not fun, but it's part of the territory when it comes to what we do.

When you talk to the GM, be honest, stay calm, and state your frustration.  You might get lucky, maybe they'll give you coupons for free food or passes for friends just for your trouble.  Good luck!
