  1. the united nations is the more fit form of power division evolving from the league of nations. after the fall of the ottoman empire in WWI, who were dominant in east europe and mid-asia, the major powers of europe, add to that the states formed the league of nations as their administrator, set to run their affairs in regions previously occupied by the ottomans. the league of nations was actually imperial cause it actually ran mandates, where france occupied countries, britain other.....etc. the "role" of the league was set such that it supervised the practice of politics in those countries. with WWII ending, and the levels of power varying, add to that the realization of the major powers that things aren''t run as they planned, the UN was established assumably to make peace, but as you witness today its simply a place where the most powerful countries yell at little ones telling them how things are to proceed. hope everyone realizes that politics is another word for LIE.

  2. To p**s off the United States

  3. To control the world's gold.

  4. To provide a forum that would act as a safety valve to prevent the kinds of politics and conflicts that had resulted in two world wars between 1917 and the mid 1930s.

No one felt that kind of situation was tolerable, and I hope no one honestly advocates returning to it now.

Since it has been > 60 years since the last full fledged world war, and the last one broke out only ~15 years after the previous one ended, someone must have been doing something right in setting up the UN.

  5. So politicians have another massive beauracracy that can't be regulated in order to make money from.

  6. i believe it was formed by a coalition of nations under socialistic principles to control the masses and to futher the agenda of globalizationby 2012.the templars control the governments with the help of the u.n.

  7. It was supposed to prevent future wars.

  8. To unify nations and make peace in the world, but the opposite happened

  9. was  a primitive attempt of Bush's new World Order...

  10. "The United Nations was born of perceived necessity, as a means of better arbitrating international conflict and negotiating peace than was provided for by the old League of Nations. The growing Second World War became the real impetus for the United States, Britain, and the Soviet Union to begin formulating the original U.N. Declaration, signed by 26 nations in January 1942, as a formal act of opposition to Germany, Italy, and Japan, the Axis Powers." Source:

  11. I am still scratching my head on that one

  12. The United Nations was formed by the United States to use it as a pawn in advancing its interests like invading Iraq for its oil.

  13. The United Nations was formed in response to WWII and the fact that the League of Nations had failed.  Members of the League realized that the idea of a collaborative organization would work, but things needed to be changed so that the organization would be more fair and be much more representative of the power structures that were inherent in the international system.  This time, they included Germany in the organization instead of leaving them out and changed the voting structure as well.  The UN was created much like the League of Nations to stop the catastrophe of full out war from occurring again.

  14. The United Nations was formed in 1945 by the winners of World War II because the League of Nations was not working.  The problem with the League of Nations was that it did not prevent its number one objective: to prevent war.  Thus, when World War II broke out, the League was dis-banned and the United Nations (UN) was formed.

The reason we need an international organization such as the United Nations is because nations need an international forum where they can bring their concerns and ideas to the entire world.  Some of the main functions of the UN is to promote international security and peace.  Furthermore, most of the UN's humanitarian work is overlooked, which is where the majority of their funding is allotted too.

  15. Fraginal has a mental disorder. How much oil have we taken from Iraq?

The United Nations was (as previously stated) formed mainly to provide a forum for international conflict resolution without war. However, if you peek back at it's charter, the UN was intended to be funded equally by all of it's members. 78% of it's funding now comes from the United States, whom the other members choose to complain about incessantly, but accept it's money freely. Perhaps we should tell them to build their own headquarters in France or Egypt (from their OWN funds) and rent out the present building to New York's homeless. Take all the parking tickets from the Mercedes and Volvo limos, and the limos causing them, and send it to a chop shop in Queens, and we'd get most of our fines back. But not the wasted money from the fact that they do absolutely nothing to solve international conflict.

  16. Just the 3rd world police of the new world order.

  17. Because it was supposed to be a new and improved league of nations which was as useless as our UN is today.

  18. They are also a front for World Government. Quite a pathetic organization, I might add.
