Wifi question?

Question

If I use a 802.11n router with a 802.11b/g wifi card, should I still get the range of the 802.11n router or is range limited to that of the 802.11b/g wifi card? I have this setup at home, but my router's range isn't any better than when I had a 802.11b/g router.
