Wild fire!!! HELP!?

Question

Will the wild fire thats going around now in nothern California ever reach the Sacramento area? I'm scared!

My mom had a dream that there was going to be a fire and I was sleeping and stuck! This is freaking me out!

Based on the current location of the wild fires and the forecast weather for the area, I would say not likely.  

However, the conditions remain very dry, so any new fires caused by nature or man made near the city or within the city can be a threat.  

There are things you can do to reduce this threat.  If you have wood shingle roofs, consider to have them replaced in the near future with something like tile. Remove any dead plants and branches and prune any tree that looks over grown.  Do not try to cut or trim your grass during the hot period of the day...from mid morning through sunset.  

Monitor the local news media through your radio, television on Internet.   Test all your smoke detectors to make sure they are in working order.  And as always, talk to you family about what you should do if a fire does occur in your home of residents.  Make sure you have more than one escape route planned and a couple of places that your family can get together if you get separated.  As long as you have some kind of emergency plans made, I would not be too concern at the moment.
