Will My Dwarf Hamster Babies Survive?

Question

okya so my dwarf hamster had 4 babies and they are a day old she already tried to kill them. One is untouched and the other three are bleeding and she chewed the arms off one. I need to know what I can do to keep the babies safe and alive. I don't want to put them back in and I don't know whether babies can survive without their mothers

well all i can say is that next tym dont touch the babies! n if yu didnt get them all outof there! and either way they will probaly die i think yu shud lyk get a pair of siscorz n cut her arms off c how shee lyks it

They can't survive that young without their mother.  Their mother was culling them to spare their lives.  Many first time rodent mothers do this because they are unprepared for motherhood, or believe their babies are in danger and want to put them out of their misery.  Either put the babies down humanely yourself, or give them back to her so she can take their lives quickly.

Mothers will usually kill their young if they have a foreign scent.  Did you touch them?  If so, that's why she is hurting them.  My advice is to let nature take it's course.  If they don't have their mother, they will die.  If you touch them, she will kill them.  Just leave them.  It's sounds like they're going to die no matter what you do now.  If anything, the three will make it and survive.

By the way, I made the mistake of touching one of my baby hamsters a day after he was born.  His mother ate off his leg, but he survived.  His name was "Pirate".  He was one tough dude, which is why he survived.  He was constantly attacked by his brothers and sisters, but he survived.

you will have to let nature take it's course as there isn't really anything you could to do for them unless you take them to the evets to be humanely unuthatised
