Will Royalty always exist?

since the earliest civilizations there has been some form of monarchy. nowadays democracies and republics are becoming more common.

will there still be king and queens in the future?

There could be more in future, remember. Spain and Cambodia are two recent examples of where republics have been abolished to make way for monarchies.

And then there are plenty of countries where the president is the eldest son of his predecessor. Some of those may formally become monarchies in time.

Yes. In most cases. In rare exceptions, monarchy today is vastly different than in the old days. A constitutional monarchy, such as Britain's, provides a continuity to society's past, present and future. It would be too wrenching for society to do away with it.

It's interesting to remember than when the Eastern Bloc countries came out from under the influence of the Soviets, two of the first institutions they looked at reviving were the church and monarchy. Monarchy became complicated because they didn't have people trained to be heads of state. When the Taliban were deposed in Afghanistan, the US considered bringing back the monarchy.

Monarchy can be above politics to be a unifying force in the role of a nation. You really have to consider its role beyond the foolishness that tabloid headlines drum up.
