Will a new antivirus help?

If I get new antivirus software and my computer is infected now, will the new antivirus software remove any current viruses? Or do I have to take it to a shop to get cleaned out? My current virus protection says I have a "trojan horse dropper", but doesn't allow it to be healed... What should I do?

  1. It all depends on what anti-virus you use. Beware there are fake anti-virus programs out there that come from malware supported ads. Just make sure you are running a Microsoft certified program like McAfee,Trend Micro, or Norton. If you stick with well known brands you will be safe.

  2. Go to http://www.malwarebytes.org and download the latest version of their free scanner. It will remove the Trojan.

  3. use windows live onecare it is from windows so it is safe it comes with 90 days free and will remove any viruses

  4. If you are infected, and files are corrupted,  the best thing to do is Reformat.  SAVE ALL YOUR DOC, MUSIC AND PICS.

insert your Windows xp Disc that came with the computer and the computer will do the rest.  Just follow insturctions.

But remember AGAIN, you will loose everthing, so save your documents and music and pictures, etc.
