I have a pure white "Penn State" underarmor hoodie. The word Penn State is in a Navy Blue and Grey silk screened ink. I have a light brown stain around the rim of the hood of the hoodie. Looks kind of like make up, thats what I get for lettin the girlfriend borrow it. Anyway, will applying bleach to the wash affect the Penn State ink at all? And am i better off just applying it directly to the hood itself?

  1. It is fine to bleach silk screened things as long as the fabric part is white.  I do it all the time.  I would worry more about if you can use bleach on that under armor fabric.

  2. First, use a good detergent.  Take some liquid laundry detergent, possibly  with "color safe bleach" and pour it on the stain.  Hold the garment overnight with the detergent on it and the wash in the hottest water the garment can stand (check the label).  Chances are, the stain will come out.    DO NOT DRY IN A DRYER (heat-set stains are often impossible to remove.)  Air dry to see if the stain has come out.

If not, proceed to a "color safe" bleach like Clorox II or Oxiclean and rewash with a good detergent.

I would not use chlorine bleach on this garment except as a last ditch effort.  I'd be a lot more likely to use a trim to cover the stained area -- but I'll bet you just a long soak in detergent and a good wash will be enough.
