Question:

Will nail polish explode on airplanes?

The title of the question is pretty much self-explanatory. I was wondering, if I bring nail polish in my luggage (as well as perfume in a glass container), it will explode and make a mess of things. And what the best way of packing them would be. Thanks!

  1. WTF?  What would make you possibly think nail polish explodes on aircraft?

As for the perfume... you'll need to check with your carrier.  There are quite a few restrictions now, and most airports won't let you take more than 100ml/3oz through security.

Best bet... pack them both in your checked luggage.  Remember that you are going to be in a confined space.  And given that you can't open the windows, other passengers will be might miffed if you decide to hoick out your nail varnish and give the toes a good going over.

  2. It definitely won't explode, but because they are in glass it's probably a good idea to wrap them inbetween something soft like a towel so they don't hit against anything else hard.

I think the biggest problem will be from baggage handlers throwing your bag around... always a good idea to keep anything liquid in a plastic bag... sometimes thinks leak or break a little bit with the pressure or from not being handled gently.

  3. simple no. its not pressurised

  4. Omg, NO ! lol

Don't worry about. I'm pretty sure it won't.
