Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf is going to resign soon, will the US stop being friends with Pakistan now that he is gone and the country is possibly going to become an islamic stronghold.

  1. I don't think so.

  2. from the looks of things, they may become the next Afghanistan, but if care is taken things will be just fine.

  3. depends on government which they have. if the government supports terrorism then your question is correct. one more thing i would like to say is Islam does not support terrorism

  4. If so I hope we keep the oil this time.

  5. No Pakistan ll not be a next afghanistan except if Usa really want it but i don't think so

Its true there is a free zone in east pakistan for activist islamist but they see it as a retreat way zone and a nomad place for there families. Yea they have things like parents, wifes and kids they want to protect...But these extremists are a really small part of the population

Actually they just want to keep it this way and it can be a bad move to take pakistan government . Don't forget that first  the Pakistan enemy is India at west who ll be happy to be the main invader force for Usa if things moves too much.

I think the best for them is to let a  non extremist, muslim or not, Pakistanin for president like a general from the army or a sindhi or hindu with some keys posts for muslims like it is actually with Musharraf.

Musharraf is from a muslim family who studied and worked in India. He lived and  get education in Turkey but he didnt transform pakistan in an islamic stronghold

Finally we can't know what ll happen in an election.Muslisms are the majority group and Hindus the minority.

But the army  have the upper hand and can make a coup d'etat fastly like they did with the last democraticaly elected president Benazir Bhutto

  6. The dusty and impoverished mountainous east of Pakistan has always been an Islamic stronghold. It is nearly impossible to police the area, and Pakistan has no small military. Afghanistan needs to have a big enough military and modern equipment to sustain itself, there's no other way. If the Taliban marches into Kabul there will be horrible human rights abuses. I think the US should move out of Iraq as soon as possible to focus on the Taliban.

  7. Well at this point we don't know... Islamic doesn't mean bad. It is the people that give it a bad name. And right now.. U.S. needs Pakistan to help keep an eye on Afghanistan...
