  1. Severely decrease......no. Multiple second trimester abortions can increase the risk of preterm labor but does not severely effect conception.

  2. No one can tell that for SURE. Who knows how your body will react. Chances are, though, with one abortion it won't. Having multiple abortions CAN affect your chances of conceiving later on.

ETA: I don't believe the TTC forum is the BEST place for this question either. There are too many women that frequent here trying desperately to have babies themselves.

  3. Maybe you should wait before you go through with it, Doctors are not always right, they make lots of mistake. God is the giver of life and he has the power to turn your pregnancy around and make everything better if that's his will. All i am saying is don't jump to conclusion and do away with precious life just b/c your Dr. recommended it. Please think about this first. I hope and pray everything will work out, our God is an awesome God!

  4. I'm no one to judge u and whatever ur reason for wanting an abortion is not my problem...however ur in a section where there is alot of women like myself ttc and it's very hard to hear that some struggle to conceive and ur talking about having an abortion.....Good Luck....

  5. Geez. Perhaps the ladies of this forum need to be a little understanding and not be so quick to judge.

Not all people that post here are stupid teenage girls. It's not unheard of for people to not want to go into specific details for whatever reasons (one of which is explained after Keesha was badgered for asking for advice). Stop being so jaded people.

Anyway, sorry to hear about your situation Keesha. My sister went through the same thing though and she's currently the mother of two children.

I would say the best thing to do would be to contact your doctor again as soon as you feel like you're able to ask the questions you have. Each case is different I imagine. Generally though, no, having an abortion is not going to eliminate your chances of having a child in the future.

  6. you never know. having an abortion can cause scar tissue.. just be careful and make sure you thought this through 110%.

  7. Some times it can damage you permently

  8. please nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo...

  9. first of all, keesha, i'm sorry for what's happening to you right now.

second, please don't let anyone make you feel uncomfortable for asking your question in this forum.  if i read correctly, you asked if your chances of CONCEIVING would be affected after your abortion.  i think that's a valid question for this particular forum.  i'm sure there are a few women here who have had an abortion in the past and are trying to conceive or have conceived.  ladies, please relax.  she didn't say she was CHOOSING to terminate this pregnancy...her doctor ADVISED it.  give keesha a break!  how would you feel if you got pregnant and your doctor said you wouldn't be able to carry to term?

  10. It won't severely decrease your chances of becoming pregnant later. I agree with Proud Mommy though, whatever choice you make is up to you, and I'm not being judgemental, but asking this question in a section for women who are trying to conceive is very insensitive.

  11. Ok, I feel for you in the situation you are having. A friend of mine went through this same thing. She has ended 2 pregnancy had 3  miscarriages and had had 2 children.  I am not sure if it will decrease your chances, but I doubt it. Anyway, can I suggest that before you terminate this pregnancy, please get a second opinion. Doctors have been known to tell their patients to get an abortion for personal reasons that they have. Maybe they think you won't carry this baby full term, maybe they know too much about your personal life and want you to end this pregnancy due to the fact that they think you won't be a good parent. Get a second opinion if you can. There have been women that has been told to have an abortion but didnt' and the baby did survive after birth.Good luck to you. I hope everything goes alright.
