Will you be my Mentor?

I want a mentor. I can advance slowly through life with the cards I've been delt, learn, and understand much about the universe within and beyond on my own, but I feel I would advance further and faster with a strong Mentor planting seeds of motivation and with years of experience exploring my subjects of interest. As in most mentoring programs this may last years or a lifetime. We may discuss subjects or you may inform me of books to read and assignments to complete. I want to grow as a being in all directions. I would very much apprieciate that special Mentor who is willing to spend their time, if only in brief amounts, to help invigorate my future with their steady hand of guidance and motivation. I thank you in advance for this opportunity.

  1. It's a great idea and most successful people have had or continue with a mentor....again a great idea....but be careful looking for it here.....don't give your address number or anything that identifies you....safer to find one another way if you can....

  2. You know what... your ideas about a mentor are good... but your method about find one is less then desirable.

It's a dangerous thing to do in a forum such as Yahoo Answers. This are crackpots and pervs seeking an opportunity to get at young people like yourself.

Go to your parents and/or school guidance counselors. Mentors should be background checked both criminally and professional, that they 'fit the bill' and aren't the freaky sick-o's.

    Good luck!

  3. I agree with Eddie. It's good to want to have a mentor, but DO NOT go looking for one online. It's too dangerous! Starting talking to teachers at school and ask if they know any programs or run any programs.

Good Luck and be safe about it:]]

  4. Actually, as a homeschooled senior, I have plenty of time to mentor you via email.

I will not do AIM chatting or phone talk for now, but maybe later as I see you are serious about this.

Contact davidli3126@yahoo.com if you are SERIOUS about this.

  5. I totally agree with eddiek94! The Internet is not the place to get mentoring. First of all if anyone was to mentor someone they should have at least some of the same interests. A doctor would not be the right person to mentor a teacher if the teacher  was looking for a professional mentor.

If you are a student go to your counselor if you are still in High School or your adviser if you attend college. If you are not happy with either of them surely someone you are acquainted with at school, in your family or on the job may be a great influence and you might have admiration for. Depending on what type of mentoring you are looking for --professional interests or just general will be a great factor in how you choose one.
