Shakhtar Donetsk’s forward Willian, has gone on to suggest that he might move on to a bigger European club in the future, while revealing that he was looking forward to moving to Chelsea in the past.
The Brazilian footballer went on to become one of the most targeted players in the summer transfer window, as a host of clubs were looking to move in and sign the player.
Chelsea were being hailed as the favourites to secure the transfer of the player, but with both the teams failing to agree on a transfer fee, the move never took place.
Despite the disappointing manner in which his transfer out of Shakhtar unravelled itself, Willian has gone on to admit that he is still looking to the future, as he feels he might end up moving out to a bigger European club in future.
At the same time, he has admitted that he knows of the interest from the Blues in regards to his transfer, and he is hoping for something productive to take place along those lines in the near future.
The Brazilian international is reported to have said: "My goal is to play for a bigger club in a high level league."
On Chelsea, he said: "If I tell you that I was happy, I would be lying. My desire was there, with a 25million euros (£20.3m) offer from a big club like Chelsea. I wanted to pack my things and go, but I can't do that as I am under contract.”
