Question:

Window regulator for a manual window??

I have a 2-door '93 Honda Civic DX, and my window on the passenger's side is kaput.

People keep telling me that I just need a new window regulator, but whenever I go look, they have motors on them that I don't need....

My car isn't fully automated...no power windows, or power locks.....

Does anyone know where to go to find a window regulator specifically for a non-electric window???

  1. go the the junk yard or just buy it from the honda dealer if you don't know what your doing.

  2. There is no regulator on manual windows.  Just some crankgears.  Pull your door panel and look at how it operates - it is a very simple mechanism, you should have no issue with figuring out exactly why it is inop especially with your drivers side being the "working" version.

  3. have you tried the Honda dealership?  they should still be available.

as for salvage yards, the DX was a very small percentage of the production.  you'd be very lucky if you ever found one in a junk yard.

the manual regulators were such a small percent of the production that you will almost certainly have to buy the factory regulator

    hope that helps
