Windows Activation? Please help ?

I have A bit of a problem but let me give u some details before I tell u my problem about 4 Years ago i bought a emachine desktop computer after like 2 Years of buying it it messed up it wouldn't run properly etc and the recover disk were to damaged to Restore. So I gave to my friend and he put in a Pirated copy of windows xp. Yesterday My dad gave me a CD that had windows Vista on it So i upgraded to it and i installed window's business I went the the Microsoft website and it confirmed that it is a original copy. So then I'm looking all the new features and such and a stumble upon the windows activation. so it says it will activate it in 3 days automatically so I'm all like i do it right now to get it out of the way.So it begins to run and this error message pops up

Dad name does not exist

Know i know if i did not validate it before 30days windows will shut down and lock my computer and i have no idea how to fix this error the only problem atm that i see is that the computer name is still the name of the name of the computer my friend go the pirated copy of windows xp on and the description is work group

Other then that i have no idea

If nothing can be done can i downgrade back to windows xp i have a cd for that or no?
