Windows Media Center Extender?

I'm not normally the one asking about computers, but I am stumped.

I go to the Windows Media Center Extender screen, and it shows me Xbox 360. When I go to my 360, it says that it cannot connect to a Windows Media Center PC. Now, why does my computer connect to the Xbox, but the Xbox doesn't connect to the computer?

Do you have Windows XP or Vista?

If Vista, make sure you are in SP1.

Did you ever connect the Xbox with another PC as an extender? You may want to reset the extender settings and start from scratch.  Usually, the setup will you give an 8-digit code which you need to enter in your PC so that the communication between the two is complete.
