Windows Movie Maker Codecs?

Question

I am trying to import a video into windows movie maker And it is trying to download the codec for it. Then I get a dialouge box saying turn off W M P and start again I have put a tick in import codec's automatically but nothing is happening any Ideas. I need to edit some videos any Ideas of free programs I can use I need to put the title on the first clip of the video

K-Lite Codec's (321) dont bother configuring, its an interactive program, leave all the box's blank...download...job done..now try your video
