Windows live sync will not connect

Question

I have used Foldershare Beta and have not had any problems. When Microsoft switch to Windows Live Sync I cannot connect. I do have Windows Live and I was able to download the Sync program...just cannot connect. The error message that I get id "to change proxy settings". I am reluctant to do this. I have upgraded to Windows Live Sync on other computers with no problem connecting. Could it be that the computer I am having trouble with is on Directway Satellite connection instead of DSL? I have tried everything I know. Help
