Windows xp sp2 help

Question

I have downloaded windows xp3 .when I start a scan with spy bot search & destroy my pc shuts off. I also cannot get my pc to perform a restore point I am at my wits end can anyone help thx

Hi,

Can you start your computer at all?

If you can start in safe mode and disable the anti-virus.

Once it is up and running then go to the control panel, system, advanced, start up and recovery, settings, make sure the automatically restart box is not ticked.
