Winking: what does it mean?

My female doctor winks at me when we shake hands after the appointment.

What could this mean?

It could be just her way.. of saying ''until next time'' or it could be meant as an encouragement '' See, I did let you live and you were frightened for nothing..'' or she was sharing a joke with you.... as long as she does not indicate anything in particular in any other way.. apart from winking.. I would not pay attention to it... on it's own without any action following.. I would just accept it as one of her mannerisms .. she probably does that with all her patients..  I would not worry as long as that's all she does..

Sometimes it is a form of a "smile" in a different way. It used to be a gesture of liking someone but recently it's often been used as a sort of gesture of greeting or something. Some people I notice have a habit of winking....it's like same thing as people who often use a certain word like "yo"  for expression, same with winking.

Probably just that she likes you...not in a "crush" way but professionally and personally.  Chances are that's just her way of showing you that she is human (not just a doctor) and cares about you.
