Wired router help????????????? (easy 10 points)

Question

i have a linksys wired router i use it beacause my modem has one ethernet port and i play xbox live so i connected it and i was wondering when i am playing xbox live and someone is using the internet if it makes my internet speed slower?

depends on what that person is doing

if he/she, is just surfing the web, it should not go slow.

if he/she is downloading a certian file or watching a video,

yes it will go slower depending on the connection you have.

no it will not! i do the same thing but with my ps3 i use to have xbox live doesnt slow down a bit. the wireless connection should be excellent like usual and wired is running at 100.mbs

It can - with any internet connection you have a limited amount of bandwith available. For instance, I've got a max bandwith of 25MPS on my connection: if I've got a fast download on one computer at 20MBS my other computer only connects at 5MBS.

The speed of both devices depends on how much bandwith each device is using. If you weer doing something intense on your XBox your computer would be really slow and vice versa.
