Wireless Remote for Nikon D40x?

Question

I would like to get a wireless remote for my camera. Is there one that is compatible that is not a name brand? I dont have a lot of cash to spend on it so the cheaper the better. Thanks

Maybe ... the only way to know for sure is to test one at your local camera store ...  I would vote to save your pennies and buy the Nikon remote.

GET THE OEM NIKON REMOTE!

They are not that expensive.

I have had some experience here. I tried to go on the cheap and bought a aftermarket remote. The first one only worked half the time, the replacement sent worked great for about 3 days and quit.

You deserve it, get yourself the NIKON remote....you will be glad you did. Good quality is actually cheaper in the long run!

The D40 wireless remote is cost effective and works well. I wish it would work with the D300 instead of the more expensive remote they have for that

The one Nikon makes is under $20.  It's the ML-L3.
