Wisdom teeth gum infection ?

I am 14 and have got 2 wisdom teeth which hav just come through. One of them really hurts to brush the side of it ( by the gum) and kills to eat ice-cream. Is this gum infection or disease? Or are they the same thing? Im going to my dentist soon but i was wondering what i should be prepared for... TY!

It's called pericoronitis. keep brushing esp after meals to keep area clear of debris. !4 is young for wisdom teeth but not unheard of. your dentist may give you antibiotics and corsodyl mouth wash to settle any infection and inflammation. tooth removal is a last resort... they're only just coming through and will prob be fine(your teething lol)

They are always really sore when they poke through. I had to have 2 removed in my 20's, so 14 is not unusual for wisdom teeth. But, if ice cream hurts, they may be a really sensitive tooth back there, or a cavity.
