I'm from the U.S., the west coast to be more exact. My family wants to travel to Singapore for about a week in March. Is it wise to go to Singapore right now when it has outbreaks of Dengue fever and chikungunya fever?

  1. you'll be alright :) Get your shots just to be on the safe side (but really, it's a very clean city, and people are super friendly, so the risk is very minimal)

  2. well, better check for info if there is already an outbreak of that disease in Singapore. btw, Singapore is a first-world country and very clean.

  3. its totally safe to visit Singapore. You don't have to worry about Dengue if you still have any doubts log on to http://www.easydestination.net this website always warns about places not to visit due to any recent events

  4. It is very safe. Trust me. I stay in Singapore and nobody I know has got any of these diseases.

  5. Hello Sir,

I'm a resident of Singapore and let it be known to you that the Dengue Fever and the virus had been cured years ago. You can very happily visit Singapore anytime.

    Good luck.

  6. Hi!! I am resident in S'pore and it is safe to visit. There is a place called "Little India" from where chikungunya fever spreads, so avoid going during night time to "little India". The Govt. is taking actions for this spreading fever. So no worries!!!! Rest of the places are pretty clean and nice. You can very well make a trip to S'pore. Have a nice and safe trip.

  7. yeah, you'll be okay..but just to be safe, get all your shots and immunizations up-to-date before you leave..it's a nice place, my family went there 3 summers ago...the people are friendly and it's nice and warm there..the shopping is great! just don't drink the water, and be suspicious of what you eat, because sometimes they don't fully cook their meats

  8. you will be ok the locals will warn you were NOT  to go if there is a break out in fever.matter of fact the security will parable ask you were you will be staying before you exit the airport area.if there is fever there they will tell you a better place for you.the Dengue fever is very common in the Philippines and i stayed three weeks there,i got bit once by mosquito and a local rub some plant juice on me once a day and i never got bit by any insect for the rest of stay.so i would say you be ok  go and have fun.
