The Premier League strugglers have put an end to Mick McCarthy's time at Molineux Stadium after the 5-1 hammering against West Bromwich.
It was hardly a tough decision to make, keeping in light the club's recent outings. West Brom revealed the decision on their official website.
"Wolves have today announced that manager Mick McCarthy has left the club with immediate effect.
"The board took the difficult decision to terminate Mick's contract after a run of form which has seen http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wolves-c40952 pick up only 14 points in the last 22 league games, after a promising start to the season, culminating in yesterday's 5-1 defeat at home to West
Bromwich Albion.
"Terry Connor will take charge of team training in the interim until a new manager is appointed.
"The board would like to place on record their sincere thanks and appreciation to Mick McCarthy and he leaves with the very best wishes of everyone connected to the club.'' The statement concluded.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alan-c4244 Curbishley, Steve Bruce and Neil Warnock are now being linked with the Molineux hot-seat.
The club might be blaming the manager for the poor run of results, but their lack of activity in the transfer market - owing to a severe lack of funds - hardly made the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 any easier for the manager.
The new man in charge is expected to face the save problem; saving the club from relegation would be a tough ask for any manager.
