Are you allowed to mix with your friends wife and her sisters or husband and his brothers?

What about at work, with fellow colleagues?

  1. ermm .. if u mean brothers or sisters in low then yeah we all sit together !

  2. No, because they are non-Mahram.

  3. Well, I know Islam forbids the free mixing but I think the intention needs to be examined.  I think it's OK for a group of men an women to work in an office together because they are not really friends, they are just acquaintances and each doing their individual work.  The intention is to work and not socialize so it's OK, in my opinion.

I personally think it's OK for one married couple to visit another married couple (be friends).  There would be two husbands and two wives in the same room but they will each dress and act appropriately.

I don't think it's good or appropriate for one husband to be friends and hang out with another man's wife, though.  There might not be anything wrong going on between them but it is disrespectful to each of their spouses in my opinion.

  4. i would honestly try to avoid it but if it's part of your job you MUST dress correctly and act appropriately and only take them as a partner in the workforce...

  5. if you are male, then your friend's wife and sis are not your mahrem.

And therefore it is not allowed according to Islamic teachings.

if you are female, then your friend's husband and brothers are not your mahrem.

At work, because you *have to work, and deal wth these people, you try your utmost best.  For specific question, you should ask a scholar.
