  1. I don't think so, the wood wouldn't be strong or flexible enough.

  2. never seen a coaster wit loops so im guessing its impossible prob cause its deadly

  3. Surely it is possible, but you wont see it.  Wood coasters are a thing of the past, and are rarely built nowadays.  Loops and the such began after the era of steel amusements.

  4. i dont think it is possible out of every wooden roller coaster ive been to there hasnt been any loops or corkscrews

  5. Yes, the Son of Beast in Kings Island used to have a loop in it but it was taken out due to people complaining of backaches. So it is possible to put a loop on a woodie but it hasnt been "perfected" yet. The loop's track is wood but the supports and the base of the track is steel. Here is a pic of what i mean....

  6. Combining modern and antique technology, sure it would be "possible" but I'm not sure how many years it would last and how safe it really would be.  The first answer to this question doesn't really make sense.  Wood is very flexible, the modern iron roller coasters do not flex.  If you have ever stood back and watched a wooden roller coaster you would notice that the wooden supports shake and flex while it is running.  Also, traditionally the carts don't really have any shoulder support, without seriously modifying the cart I definitely would not feel safe if it had loops or corkscrews!

  7. Anything is possible, but it's just not done. Come on somebody, take it to the maxx!!!!
