Woodside california?

hey; i'm writing a story. I wanted it to be based in a small town with lots of horses and horseman, and there's a beagle hunting club that's a major part of my story [whether there's actually one in woodside or not isn't all that important]. what i read on woodside sounds kind of perfect [i didn't read much... lol]. so i was wondering about the way people act there. like popular hangouts, games, what they eat, how they talk. Can anyone help? I know I'm asking a lot lol, I'm just not sure where exactly to search, or i'd do it on my own. [or if you know a better place...]

Woodside is really nice. Your typical laid back, slightly upscale Cali town. Most of the kids go to school in Redwood City, just up the road. Sounds like you would really want to set your story in Portola Valley though.....

Most of the people who live in Woodside today are executives (and their families) in Silicon Valley and have never been on a horse. They run or are senior executives in technology companies who tend to work day and night.

For background: they shop at Roberts Market in the quaint little downtown. They eat breakfast at Bucks, where every morning you can find multi-millionaires whispering business secrets. Hardly a cowboy town. Horses are mostly ridden by wives and children, English style. The club is the Menlo Circus Club (in the nearby rich town of Atherton) where there are polo ponies but no Beagles.

All the stories using Woodside as a locale today are about power brokers in Silicon Valley.

I think you're dreaming of a ranch in Montana.
