I need help wording a double ceremony for my son and daughter. Both couples are funding the wedding themselves but we are not sure as to how to word it. It has to fit on a 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 sheet. Thanks in advance

  1. Alright, so straight from the 17th Edition of Ettiquette by Emily Post as edited by her great-grand-daughter-in-law, Peggy Post (no joke, haha, I really own the book- I love it)

    "When it's a double wedding

Double weddings usually involve sisters (however, I'm sure this can be applied to your son and daughter.) The names of the elder sister (child) and their fiancée come before the younger child on the invitation."

I'm not sure if you want to do it that way, or if the son is younger, put him anyway? I do not know.

Anyway, the example they give is

"Mr. and Mrs. Mitchell Travis Raines

request the honour of your presence

at the marriage of their daughters

    Jessica Gale

    to

    Mr. Peter James Luckett

    and

    Mary Lynn

    to

    Mr. Angelo Ramerize..."

It's all centered, by the way.

So, you obviously may want to play arond with the wording of it, and I'm not sure what you would replace "daughters" with because "at the marriage of their children" sounds sort of incestous. hah.

Maybe you could say "at the double marriage of our children" or something. Actually, I am thinking that sounds alright.

So, I hope I helped and this was what you were looking for!

Good luck. And congrats to the kids. =]
