Ballad About The Church FireThe Church was on fire I sawAnd into it I ranWith no thought of self-preservationI took a child in hand.Me and Johnny worked togetherTo get the children outThey will be grateful foreverFor that I have no doubt. Our lies were at stakeBut we didn’t hesitateThe children were nearly all safeBut uncertain was our fate.We headed for the windowTo try and get to safetyJohnny pushed me through itAnd stood there looking (I need a word here....)Down came the roofAnd with it went JohnnyHe lay there unconsciousWith flames around his body. But in went DallyThe hero of the dayAnd out he came with JohnnyTo live another day.
