Question:

Working hours in australia

Just curious but is there a set number of hours people down under work a week? For example here in the states we work 40 hours a week. Anything past 40 hours is over time and you get paid time and a half.... for example if you make 10 dollars an hour anything over 40 hours would be paid 15 dollars an hour. <this is jobs paid by the hour and not salary positions.

I was wondering what a full time job in australia is like. Thanks

  1. Typically we work a 38 hour week.

  2. 40 hour week with a day off every 4 weeks. Overworked , understaffed and underpaid, but mot all employers are like mine, I m trying to find a new job now myself.

  3. Mine is a 35 hour week, overtime Monday to Satuday is time and a half for the first 2 hours,  double time after 2 hours. Sunday is double time.
