  1. I heard they changed the ending to I Am Legend, which kind of makes the book what it is.

  2. Hannibal! But actually, the book sucked too...

  3. The Golden Compass. Urgh.

  4. Brideshead Revisited. It was as awful as the miniseries was wonderful.

  5. Eragon. The book is kind of suckish, but that movie was dreadful.

I thought the HP4 movie sucked too. I can't even watch it because it's so bad. =\ The fifth one was better, though-- they cut out all of the subplots, but at least they kept the main plot fairly intact.

  6. Lemony Snicket series

  7. Series of Unfortunate Events

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

and the coup de gras... Eragon.

  8. Les Miserables by Victor Hugo was butchered by tons of movies. The only ones I can think of right now are the Liam Neeson film, where Valjean hit Cosette, Marius and Enjorlas were the same character, and Eponine and the Thenardiers didn't exist, and the Gerard Depardieu film, where Valjean was in love with Cosette, and not just in a father-daughter way, either.

The Hobbit by JRR Tolkien was pretty bad in the Rankin-Bass film. I hope the new movie does better.

The recent few Harry Potter movies had half the book cut out. UGH. I hope the next ones will be truer to the book.

  9. I hated the 1940 version of Pride & Prejudice!

The clothing wasn't right for the time period, and the changed the storyline.

  10. Ella Enchanted, the only thing that stayed trued to was the name

  11. eragon definitely. i loved the book, but the movie just ruined it.

  12. The Pavilion of Women was a horrible and inaccurate adaption!
