  1. Tsunami is the worst and can make huge tidal waves and flood some lands and islands.

  2. Depends on the location. I think the most damage and worst would be either and earthquake or a tsunamis. The only reason I say earthquake, is because depending on the intensity and location, it can cause others as well.

I myself haven't been in any natral disasters. I helped clean up my cabin after a flood but that is the closes involvement I have had. Where I live, there isn't a threat for tornado, hurricanes, tsunamis, but there is for earthquakes. There is a major fault line in the river, but my town hasn't had an earthquake in like 80 years. The only other danger would be fire caused by lightning because the location is incredibaly dry. Tecnically it is considered a desert climate.

Thanks for asking, Hope I helped your curiosity.

  3. Hurricanes top the list as the worst natural disasters.

The National Hurricane Center pegs Hurricane Andrew, a category five storm in 1992, as the most destructive to hit the United States. It caused damage estimated at $26.5 billion.

Here's a list of Forbes ten worst natural disasters: (it's a few years old)

Thankfully I haven't been through any. In Alaska, we live near the "ring of fire" so earthquakes are a constant threat. In 1964, there was a 9.2 magnitude earthquake that was very devastating. The earth opened up and swallowed cars and buildings. You couldn't stand because you'd be knocked off your feet. People witnessed the tops of trees actually touching the ground from being whipped back and forth. And this lasted a few minutes. Pretty scary stuff.

  4. Hurricanes are the most expensive natural events, with storms like Hugo, Andrew, and the most expensive Katrina, causing tens of billions in damage. That being said, tsunamis, and earthquakes can also cause billions in damage, but generally major hurricanes strike more often than major tsunamis and earthquakes.

As far as loss of life, flooding is the only natural disaster to have killed millions in a single event (occurred in China).
