....reading (or at least skimming over) the loan contract I have drawn up for Rocky's part loan? I'll email it to anyone who is prepared to do it, I'd be VERY grateful (it IS 7 pages long!) It's just I've never done one before, I've looked at a few on the web but none are suitable so I sat down last night and wrote my own. I totally understand if everyone has better things to do, but I would be extremely grateful for any help. If anyone can offer advice from a legal basis....well then 10 points for you lol. It's a Publisher document so you'd need this to read it. If you could either answer with your email, or send your email to me on here or on petsandponies@aol.co.uk. Thanks!!!

  1. You can run it by me if you want. Send it through the Yahoo mail link or if it won't do that I can send you my real e-mail addy.

I'm not going to put it on here - and I'd advise anyone who has to take it down pdq before they start getting "interesting" stuff.

  2. Sure! Email me at ashs196@yahoo.com

  3. yeah sure, randomizmystyle@hotmail.com   xx

  4. I don't mind.  My contract was approved by my attorney...would you like to see a copy of it?

OK...mine's more for an off-site lease arrangement.  But there were a few things in yours that came to mind:

    1.  You identified the "guardian" as the "loaner" I believe on the first page.  I don't know if it's a different terminology in the UK, but in the US, the "owner" would be the "lessor" and the "guardian" would be the "lessee."  I don't know if "loanee" is a term, but you may switch it to "lessee" or "guardian" to be consistant with the rest of the document.

    2.  I didn't see any scheduling guidelines if this is a part lease.  You might add a line that protects your right to come ride the horse while still guaranteeing her usable access time.

    3.  The tack cleaning guidelines--I'd require that tack will be returned to the clean condition (day to day wiping down and such) that it was in prior to use after each use, with a thorough cleaning once per month.

    4.  "Few minutes" is a vague term.  I'd be more precise...extensive cantering forbidden, cantering for "x" minutes must be followed by a cool down walking period of "x" minutes.

    5.  You should incorporate the terms of the insurance into the actual, physical signed contract.

Just a few things to consider.  Hope the lease works out for you, and hope some of the stuff in mine may have helped you.

  5. Sure I will go over your lease form! I will send you my email!
