I am looking at a road bike on the net which is an absolute bargain. Thing is they only have it in a 39cm frame size, which i suspect may be too small!! However I may be wrong..I am 5' 4'' with an inside leg measurement of 31cms. Ideas please?

  1. Best is try all bikes on sale at a sporting shop & feel the ride. If ya feel comfortable with 1 & suits your taste on the color & looks, that's the perfect 1 for ya.

Keep it safe ridin, always, good times

  2. 39 cm? holy c**p thats tiny, and thats to big on you

if ur inseam is 31 and the top tube is 39 your toes are gonna be 8 cm off the ground which is around 3 inches give or take a lil

    dont get c**p online

test ride a bike before u get it

  3. maybe a 19 inch i think

  4. Yeah, that's going to be way too small for you.  I helped an ex-g/f find a road bike....she's 5' tall with a 26" inseam and a 43cm is what fit her the best.    I've never even heard of a 39cm frame....wow.   That's *really* made for tiny people!   :o)

You'll have to talk to a knowledgable salesperson in a good bike shop and try out a few bikes for sizing, but I'd guess that you'd fit into a 49-53cm frame.   Try out both regular (men's) and women's specific designs to see what will fit you best....don't let the salesperson pigeonhole you into a women's frame right away.   Good luck, and have fun shopping!    :o)
