  1. a true vegan would not because eggs are a byproduct from an animal, along with the milk used in the cake...

there are cakes made especially for vegans with substitute eggs and milk... i dont know what they are really made of so dont ask but my stepmom is a vegan and she buys them and eats them instead.

  2. No, as vegans don't eat anything that has come from an animal, whether or not it died to produce the food.  So as well as no meat/fish/poultry, that includes the following (and foods that contain them):

milk, eggs, cheese, cream, yoghurt, honey, gelatine, butter, most types of margarine, lard/dripping, ice cream, some food additives (like shellac or cochineal).

So standard cakes, cheesecakes and mousse would be out.  It is possible to make vegan cakes (use vegetable margarine in place of butter) and a soya-based product called egg replacer in place of real eggs.

  3. no because eggs are a dairy product

  4. Mouses? Do you mean mice? No, vegans don't eat those.

  5. OMG.  I think you know the answer.  If they don't eat eggs, would they eat eggs in cake?  Uh NO!

looks like they will eat anything......even little trolls :)

  7. no.vegans don't eat nothing that comes from animal

  8. Yes vegans eat cakes and cheese cake and brownies and cookies BUT.. and its a big BUT

They make them with substitutes not Dairy, eggs, cheese etc.

So a cheese cake would be made with soy milk and silken tofu and macaroni cheese a big fave is made with soy milk and nutritional yeast which tastes cheasey.

Cakes are made with oil here are some recipes

This is a pretty amazing cheese cake

    Vegan) Lemon Cheesecake

1-14 oz package firm silken tofu

1-8 oz package Better than Cream Cheese

    2/3 cup sugar

    ¼ cup lemon juice

    ½ tsp almond extract

    2 tbsp cornstarch

    1-9 inch pie crust

    Preheat oven to 350F.

Place silken tofu and vegan cream cheese in the food processor. Process for 1 minute, then add sugar. Process until smooth and no sugar granules remain, 3-5 minutes.

In a small bowl, combine lemon juice and almond extract. Whisk in cornstarch. Pour mixture into the food processor and process until very smooth. Pour into prepared crust and bake for 45 minutes.

Allow to cool at room temperature for 2 hours, then refrigerate overnight.

    Serves 10

    Apricot and Pumpkin Fruitcake.

    1 cup cold mashed pumpkin

    360g mixed fruit

    2 tablespoons Golden Syrup

    1 teaspoon bicarb soda

    1 1/2 cups SR flour

    1 cup apricot nectar

    1 teaspoon mixed spice

    1 tablespoon sherry

Put mixed fruit, golden syrup and nectar in a saucepan and bring slowly to the boil.  Simmer 3 - 5 mins.  Allow to cool and add pumpkin., flour, spice and bicarb.  Place in well greased bar tin and cook in moderately slow oven (160 deg C) for about 90 minutes.  Allow to cool slightly and then pour sherry over the cake.

If you want a bigger cake - halve again or double the ingredients and adjust your cooking time.  It's a lovely cake.  Or if you want a carrot cake with lemon/vegan cream cheese icing, let me know and I'll get that recipe for you although it does have oil in it.

    Ingredients

    3 cups flour (680 grams)

2 cups sugar (450 grams) (read this first)

    6 tablespoons cocoa (100 grams)

    1 teaspoon salt (5 cc's = 5 ml)

    3/4 cup vegetable oil (200 cc's)

    2 tablespoon vinegar (30 cc's)

    2 teaspoon vanilla (10 cc's)

    2 cup cold water (480 cc's)

    Directions

Mix the dry ingredients. Add the wet ingredients. Stir until smooth. Bake two greased, floured pans at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Makes two layers of a two-layer 9-inch or 8-inch round cake, or one small sheet cake. When cool, frost it.

A lot of people seem to be under the impression that vegan food is boring but its not but you do need to cook. And being inventive is the trick! A strawberry mouse can be made with sugar, strawberres and tofu cream or silken tofu. Its a matter of being crative thats all!

Go to veganwolf.com or just surf the net and you will be surprized at the recipes.
