Would you consider knitting hard?

If you are a beginner, would knitting - knitting toys more specifically - be hard?

Everything is difficult if we don't know how to do it. I learned to knit from library books before videos were available . When you first begin , just knit on a practice piece until you get comfortable holding the needles. Learn how to pick up dropped stitches with a crochet hook rather than ripping out your work.

.Don't knit when you are tired or have distractions around you as you will tend to make more mistakes and become frustrated. Always have good lighting, so that you can see your work and start with lighter colours of yarn.

It would depend on the toy.  A toy knitted flat and then sewn up would be a lot easier for a beginner than one made in the round.

Beginners should probably stick to scarfs, slippers, hats and mittens.  Then work up to small baby sweaters, socks and experiment with different stitches like cabling and really get your increases down without holes in your work.  

Of course if they really put their mind to it I'm sure they can pull off anything.  I'm not exactly known for starting off small myself :-)

The Knifty Knitter is a round loom system and is very easy. I have taught children as young as 8 yrs old ;)))

Knitting is a little bit hard for beginners, but that's what makes it fun. With all of the videos that are out there to help you, and all the free patterns floating around on youtube, it's much easier to get information nowadays. Start with some rectangular things like dish cloths and scarves, and you'll be knitting toys in no time.
