Wrist in pain from tennis?

i play tennis a lot and i actually have a huge tournament coming up in 2 days so i can't really stop playing tennis. but my wrist hurts sooooo bad! i can't do anything with my wrist now it just hurts. what can i do thats fast and helps my wrist out a lot?

also, i do have a nice racquet that i use, so its not my racquet

  1. I am pretty sure it has something to do with your stroke.   Ask your coach (if you have one) if there is anything in your stroke that might cause pain in your wrist.  If you don't have a coach, then anaslyze your stroke to see if there is anything that might be harmful to your wrist.  My coach says that my stroke would hurt my wrist if I was older.  A lot of the time it depends on your forehand grip, because I have a wester grip and that it a pretty extreme grip.


  2. Take some Advil and DONT play tennis and just dont use that wrist until the tournament, get one of those wrist braces to straighten it out.

  3. yea, make sure your wrist is locked when you hit your forehand, if it is not it can cause some serious damage to your wrist every time you hit the ball.

  4. make sure that you are not snapping your wrist on your groundstrokes because that'll make it sore and you're not supposed to snap your wrist anyway!  Ice your wrist as much as  possible and take some ibuprofin.
