15.08.2008 we are going to celebrate Independence day of our country. Come lets discuss something..

Thinking (loud) about .....Independence day!!

I see fruits of the independence all around

(a) India's average life expectancy of its peopls has increased from around 60+ to 80+ today

(b) We have more children in schools, and more young people who have been to college

(c) We have more roads, and trains than most parts of the world

(d) We have countries that recognize Indians as a force to reckon with, and many that get India's help to provide them Knowledge, goods and services

e) We are free to travel, visit, and work in almost all parts of this country without any special permissions or registration

f) We have more people from most global religions, living as equal Citizens in this country

g) We have more local and foreign newsprint, periodicals, and TV channels that reach us unrestricted through-out India

NO DOUBT it was a memorable date in 1947, come 2008 and....yet we have many MANY MILES TO GO



Here are a few we can do better or improve from where we are

1) Good access to education, information, and health for all Indians?

2) Update Indian constitution in tune with current times, and the system of law & order (that we inherited from 100 years ago)....to allow us to experience the beauty of India?

3) Be "independent" enough....to select capable rulers that the country needs

And we as Citizens of India got our complete FREEDOM.....we are Free to not punish the "rich and poweful"....

Free to paste posters on every pole or sign boards or wall....

Free to dump litter on "public land" (not into the available dust bin).....

Free not to plant enough trees but cut the available trees around our roads and make way for more pollution creating American & Japanese cars.....

Free the adminstrators to sell public land to previleged leaders for their private institutions.....

Free the "Government" to spend public money to send Ministers on foreign trips, but not afford the salaries for our respectable teachers

Think...and DO for the country

instead of discussing lets take an oath....

1. help the fellow human beings

2. respect everyone

3. help to reduce global warming, saving resources...

i know its very easy to say but we have to do something.....

It is our problem that we r so busy that we find no time to remember the patriots & freedom fighters.So there comes a day to sit at home relaxed & think about freedom fighters by watching patriotic movies.

Many leaders who have died for the sake of our motherland need a salute and respect from the bottom of the heart. UNQUESTIONABLY!

See what best can u do to carry any of the suggestion/ideas imparted by the TRUE LEADERS.

Even though it could be small but it will make u content.

e.g Lokmanya Tilak - propogated the sarvajanik Ganapathy festival - so the expenses all  the people who install a Ganpathi in their house. So only one AArthi and other poja can be done in one place and in one time. Thereby saving a lot on individual expenses.

Simillary many leader had taken some initiative, Go through the details of your favourite leader and see what best you can do to attain it !!!!

Lets discuss somethiong abt Independence but I wonder why on standards & testing?

Its the day in which we have to remember all the patriots and their sacrifice.Lets make an oath to stop humiliating them and their statues.

this is not an history ,it is the atmosphere of our indian bloods .it is the day we got our freedom ,so we should honour indian leagends who sacrificed and who took part in it very boldly , we should be proud of ourselves that we are indians.onething we got freedom not only by struggle but also by the unity ,so should celebrate it by unity...........
