Written off car insurance?

ive recently written off my car, does my policy continue after they have paid me ? ie if i get a new car with the settlement money, can i put that on the existing policy, as there is about 6 months left on the policy?

Above answer not always correct - people automatically ASSUME that your insurance company cancel your policy due to having no car but the insurance company leave it running so you can put your new car on your current policy. Just check with your insurance company as each one has different circumstances.

in uk no once they have paid out on that policy it finishes  you will need to get a new policy as u will have a different car to insure you need to read the conditions off your policy its all in there or contact the company
