I was told I have a wry sense of humor. I've heard "wry" before, but I wasn't exactly sure what it meant. I looked up the definition, but does anyone have a certain example of using wry humor? Like, could you make a hypothetical remark that would be considered wry, or maybe tell me about a specific time someone used that humor? Thanks.

  1. i found this onthe net,i dont really get it but it should help:

With John Lennon as the uncrowned king of the band, The Beatles achieved great heights in music history. As a person, John Lennon came across as a cynic with a wry sense of humor. When asked by a reporter about the reason for the success of his music, he retorted, "If we knew, we'd form another group and be managers."

  2. A wry sense of humour is kinda dry and mocking. even self mockery.

Sarah Palin's comment - What's the difference between a hockey mom and a pitbull? - lipstick. seems to me to fit the bill.

    Hope this helps.
