X'mas break?

My hubby and I plan to spend our xmas break in London..Staying there wud b expensive I guess so v are planning to camp at a friends place in Luton and then may be shuttle to and from London.Is that ok or will the travelling cost a lot?

Also, we'd like some good ideas on spending time in London. We are both teetotallers and not really interested in Pubs etc.

  1. THE 2 places that you must go are the Natural history museum and Covent garden for the market type shops and the street entertainment.


  2. well i dont know about travel but it is pretty expensive over here. i would suggest taking a tour round london maybe do some shopping pop in to some museums i.e. the v&a.

  3. you are looking at spending about £10 - £15 a day each on travelling. depending on when & which station you travel.

  4. Transport cost can be enormous. You can get the card and buy the travel card for the west end.

    Do the theater, movies and some resturants. I like oriental food. I suggest you try Thai food. Do a few fancy dinners. Its christmas.

  5. A cheap day return is £11 each, include an off peak travel card and the price is £15 each, but you can travel on trains, tubes, buses and trams all day.

    Check out the Transport for London website, there are special offers for various attractions there.

    Museums and galleries are free. The National Gallery in Trafalgar Square is brilliant.

    Look for resturants and cafes off the main drag - they are cheaper and usually better.

    Walk along the Thames path on the South Bank, there is always something to see there.

  7. when you get there get an oyster card or a weeks worth of travel tickets cheap and easy!

    go to hamelys (massive toy shop) they will love it i did and im 15 lol
