XEROX XC865 flashing light no manual

Question

I don't have a manual for my Xerox XC865 machine and bought it used from a private party.  I put a new toner cartidge in, fired it up for the first time, and on the control panel front of the machine - in the diagram of a copier the first light is flashing red. It looks like maybe an eye or an arrow pointing up.  Not knowing what this is I don't know what the next step is.

I paid $5 for the machine but I have put $95 into the new cartridge.  I am willing to put a little more money into it if it will work but at this point that light just flashes and it won't do anything.
