Xbox 360 Home Theatre? PLEASE HELP?

Hi there I recently purchased an xbox 360 the one that comes with the one month free xbox live. Anyways, I have a home theatre system set up in my living room where my 360 is, but for some reason I cant get my xbox 360 audio to come out of my home theatre system speakers. It is a dolby digital 5.1 and I put it on that settings in my 360, I tried just plugging my red and white audio cables into the home theatre system and turning it on/and leaving it off and the sound still wont come out of there.

PLEASE HELP

If your 360 settings are correct, then perhaps your Stereo settings are incorrect...

I don't see how someone could mess up hooking up basic audio cables into their Stereo, so I'm not sure what else it could be...

but first try this: make sure your Xbox 360 works perfectly on the TV sound system. Then (keeping these TV connections) connect your television's audio outputs to the 5.1 surround sound system. Hope that works for you; let us know and enjoy the rich sounds of gameplay!  :))
