Xbox 360 trouble!!!!?

Ive had my 360 for a long time now and ive taken great care of it. All of a sudden the other day it had 3 red lights turn on around the power symbol on my console and the 360 wouldn't turn on. I waited about 10 minutes then tried again and it worked no problem for a couple of days. Today i tried playing again and the same problem occurred only now its not turning on no matter what!! Any idea whats wrong?? Ive heard about the lights before but im not quite sure what they mean?? Any possible way to fix it?

you can send it to xbox for up to three years and they will fix it for free.

your in luck i had the same exact problem and there is an easy fix. my warranty was up so sending to microsoft was not an option.

P.S. a lot of people talk about a towel trick DON'T DO THAT
