Xbox live hook up????????????

Question

i want to hook up my xbox 360 but my modem only has one ethernet cable and its used to connect to my computer if i disconnect it for use of my xbox then when im finished with xbox can i reconnect the one thats connected to my comp without messing up my internet connection

YES THERE SHOULD BE AUTO SET YOU MIGHT HAVE TO RESET YOUR MODEM OR RESTART COMPUTER SOMETIMES  YOU WONT HAVE TO UNPLU MODAM EVERYTIME  SOME OLD MODEMS U MIGHT HAVE TO BUT JUST TRY UNPLUGING AND PLUGING BACK IN  IF U UNPLUG YOUR MODEM YOUR GONNA HAVE TO RESET COMPUTER 4 SURE

BUT YA WONT HURT BUT ANYWAYS TALK TO YOUR INTERNET COMPANY ABOUT GETING A NEW MODEM WITH MORE PORTS OR EVEN  COME PUT AND GIVE U ROUTER~~LOOK INTO THIS  BECAUE MINE(ROADRUNER) GIVES U ROUTER  FOR FREE NO EXTRA MONEY WHEN U GOT A MODEM WITH ONE PORT

IF THEY CHARGE U  FOR THE EXTRA PORTS LIKE 5 BUCKS  U COULD GO BUY ONE AND MADE IT BACK IN 2 YEAR  AND IT SSTILL BE GOOD FOR 5+ YYEARS EASY

IF U BUY A ROUTER MAKE SURE U DONT BE A CHEAP PERSON ABOUT IT BECAUSE IF U DO U CAN END UP WITH A STRICT NAT AND THATS STOPS U FROM JOINGING ALOT PPL PARTYS

umm yeah if u are saying u want to unplug from your computer and plug to the xbox.. and go on live.. and when your done u want to plug it back into the computer... yeah that will work but u wont be able to go  on the internet on your computer while u have the cord plugged into the xbox but if u plug it back to the computer u will have internet again... so basically u  can only go online on one thing at a time unless u get a router.. then u can go online on your computer and your xbox at the same time.,.

just disconnect your modem from power before you hook up your xbox then when you switch it to your computer do the same thing. this is what i do so hope it works.
